Child Development Resources of Ventura County, Inc. (CDR), the largest nonprofit social services agency in Ventura County, will hold an exciting, free event honoring children, Celebrate the Child, on Sunday, October 11 at the historic Camarillo Ranch. The fun-filled day of live entertainment, games, music, arts/crafts and food from around the world features an international theme. Performers from such diverse cultures as Scandinavia, (the Skandia Dancers) and the Ventura County Ballet (performing Flamenco and Chinese variations from the Nutcracker Suite) will enliven and entertain. The event will be held from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm at 201 Camarillo Ranch Road in Camarillo. (Advance tickets required.)
"We are thrilled to be able to present this exciting event to the community, completely free of charge," says Don Henniger, CDR's Executive Director. "We have been able to achieve this through the generous donations, both monetary and in-kind, of many local businesses that support the meaningful work that we do."

CDR has been helping families in Ventura County for more than 35 years. Honored at the state and federal level as a leader in the child care field, the organization benefits 3,500 low-income, high-risk families (with more than 5,000 children), annually. It administers state and federal programs to children from birth to age 13 through its Head Start, Early Head Start, and subsidized Child Care programs. CDR's vision is that every child's growth and development will be fully supported to ensure a happy and successful adult life.
